Hound and Ravage Review

Here for another review, this time it's Hound and Ravage, or Ravage and Hound. I did return the Batman Beyond from yesterday, played with it for a night because I thought I fixed it.I planned on not returning him, but this morning who decided to snap? The fricken' leg! I gave up and got Ravage and Hound. I was about to buy Cyclonus and Nightstick/ beat (Forgot his name)... Anyways yeah...Ravage and Hound, the outdated oversized cassette tape and jeep.
Hound (Vehicle)

Standard military jeep, I'm guessing. Vehicle mode is looking good. Very reminiscent to the G1 counterpart, just updated a bit. He's a nice dark lime green. Windshield, and head lights clear blue. The lights on top of the windshield and under the headlights are yellow, tail lights red. The has a gunmetal bumper, sides and back bumper. Dashboard, wheels, and something behind the seats are black. The seats themselves are white. There is a white star in the right front. He has two black prongs that can fold flat or vertical. They attach to Ravage's cassette spools in tape mode. The two things behind the seats has little slits that his hologram gun to attach too.

Hound (Robot)

Fold seats down, pull the back half out, and fold the black things behind the seats down. Fold down "trunk" area down and you have his feet. Yay, Half way there! Now stand him up...fold the two arms out and turn them 180 degrees down, fold out the fist. Grab his wheels and extend them out. His waist assembly will fold down then fold up for his, er... underwear? Well, then fold the whole front jeep part down. Fold his head into the front so it clicks. Take the windshield and push it forward, the wheels have two hinges and they fold behind the head.

His robot mode looks good, the articulation fits well with him. Ball joint shoulders, head, and hips. Swivel thighs, hinged elbows, knees and from transformation ankles. The ankles also have rocker joints that move from side to side. Now that is possibility...His Hologram Gun can fit in either hand, and also attaches to his shoulder like the original one. Color scheme stays the same. More black in the arms and legs, yellow appears a bit more. The autobot symbol is found on the car hood, as same as the vehicle mode. The star is also still visible. I find this transformation neat, like the seats folding to become his thighs.

Ravage (Cassette)

He is a new mold. Really nice mold though, looks like the old Ravage, except the appearance due to the new transformation. Pretty nifty though, I really like this mode. Some gunmetal on the sides, and the Deception symbol on the "front".

Ravage (Ravage)

The "front" has the Deception symbol, so lets begin there. The two silver sections, pull them out, they become the front legs. Flip him over, and fold those gunmetal sections out, those become the back half. Fold out the thighs of Ravage from the back, and his head is placed in the middle of the cassette. Pull his head out, pull the front legs down and the back legs up and then in the back pull his tail out. Please level him out, sometimes he just looks funny with that big butt poking out, the thighs and back should be about the same level.

His Ravage mode looks nice. His shoulders looked hunched over for a menacing looks. His eyes are red, and not much else. He has two rockets, hinting at his G1 version, but it is reported the old rockets can fit in the cassette spools. Articulation is all due to transformation. Knees, neck, shoulders, hips, and tail are hinged. The thighs have swivel. Really cool mode.

Nothing much else. This is a great set. Two figures in one. I would recommend this one. Though I'm hearing Cyclonus is good, so he might top this set. 9 out of 10 for this one. DTM Outz..

Long time no see...REVIEW TIME!

True, long time no see. doubt anyone missed me. Anyways I got DCUC Despero Wave today. Reviews are going to be short, not like those super long ones, which I struggled to finish.

Wonder Woman- The old decent articulation of DCUC figures. She's in the outfit as above, 'cept not as many stars on the panties, high heels instead of flat, not as shiny and of course to glitter. Mattel will charge you twice as many for glitter... She's about the average height of regular male DCUC figures. She comes with an axe with the Wonder Woman Ws in the shape of an eagle. Also a shield with eight stars and something that looks like a sun in the middle. The axe works best in her right hand, as for my figure, the shield can clip on either wrist and it has a peg for rotary action! No I just kid, it can spin though...Am I missing anything, you ask? No I'm not, the Golden Lasso is not removable, it's glued onto her waist. No worries, making one shouldn't be to hard, it's just I haven't gotten time to make it.

Cyborg- Still same articulation as the others. Same appearance as above (Chain not included). A lot of sculpting to make this guy. He's one of the best detailed in the whole series. He comes with two accessories. A thing and...another thing? I have no idea what to call them. A claw that can shoot stuff I'm assuming, it has a little nozzle in between the claw grips. The other thing looks like a USB Drive. maybe it shoots stuff too. It has three little nozzles as well. The right fist pops off to accommodate either of the two. The left fist does not, so he can USB and claw people at the same time. Damn...

Captain Atom- Same POA. Same as pictured above. This is the "variant", but i see more of these than the silver, actually I saw one silver and four gold. He seems to shiny in the pic, This figure isn't in chrome by the way...Well this one was so easy for mattel. No sculpt on the body what so ever. Great for customs, bad for the figure. The red lines don't line exactly with the others. For say, line the front shoulder to the torso and the lines running across his shoulders don't line to the back. The boots and gloves are a nice shiney red. Not to be mean to the figure but he needs help in the paint department. He looks fine when in package and then open him up and turn him around, he's scraps all over. Lines don't match up. I see it's a hard thing to do to not have any carved in guideline for the painter to use. Pose wise he is awesome, nothing like armor or cloths get is the way. For me the left fist feels like it's tight and about to tear off, so no upper cuts from that hand.

Ares- Same POA as all of them. I wish they had more pictures to pick from but this is the most like the figure. The figure has skulls on his knee pads as well, not the design shown in the pic. The helmet seems a bit small compared to the figure. The figure has the helmet that's just big enough to give him a hulking look. Also the cape in the pic...that's bull, the figure features the best cape ever, a stiff, non flowing cape, it can't get better than that! The figure also has hooks on his waist, I'll talk about it later... Well yeah, this guy is my favorite out of the series. Great, no excellent, wait, not quite, superb? I think so... The chest armor has dents in it like it was made from the black smith, plus it has scratches in it. The helmet is bloody cool (no pun intended). Horns, coiled with snake like things, designs that looks cool. The horse brush on top is somewhat flexible, it is molded so the end sweeps to the left. I really like the skulls on his forearms. Really cool. How can he be the god of war without weapons? He comes with an axe and a long sword. Both painted with silver, black handles, and seems like Sapphire jewels embedded in the blades. The handles are dry brushed silver. Now the hooks... the axe has one of those "leather" loops so you can wrap it around his wrist, like Thor's hammer. Well he can't wrap it around his wrist, it can hook onto the hook and hand there. Either one is good. The sword is left to carry in his hand. I can't see how to hook it on anyways. On the value side he's the bigger DCUC in the series.

Batman Beyond- Looks like the body of Captain Atom with the little spikes coming out his forearms. I can't fully review him. Both of his legs snapped off, after super tight hip joint. He's all shiny black. He's not like the pictured picture above. He was either pumping iron or steroids. He comes with a little batarang. I tried fixing his hips, but it would stick, there was all this grease in the joint. I'm returning him tomorrow for another one. Hoping it would bet better.

Despero- Huge, big, elephant, walrus, pink. Whatever you may, he's bulky. Pictures of him are limited on the Internet. He's supposed to be wearing a cape, or ripped shirt, pants, or an orange jumpsuit. I guess the figure is based off the toy above. He comes with a pistol and a rifle. The rifle can attach to his back via a clip and the pistol hangs from a holster from his belt. My Despero is left armless. Thanks a lot Batman Beyond... I don't know but my right shin/knee joint is actually a left one. He's kind of hard to make him stand.
My first near completed DCUC wave and they look pretty cool. These are on sale at Target for $8.99 each. Two dollars cheaper than normal price. Out of the whole Despero Series, I really like Ares, he alone is worth it. If I didn't know, I would've just bought him alone and maybe Wonder Woman. My only thing to watch out if parts, Some are not attached correctly, and soon you'll have two right biceps. My Ares has two inverted biceps, no big though. I rate this series 8.5 out of 10. A good line up of figures, the accessories fit well with the characters. Hope you enjoy this review, and i hope it's an improvement of my previous reviews. Thanks. DTM Outz...
(On a side note, I did not write this review on November 9th. It just happens I edited an old draft and the date seems permanent. Today is December 30th...)

GI Joe Round Up

I have no idea what I got, or if I mentioned it from previous post. I'm not updating as much and too lazy to hit the back button to check. Though I did get the Trouble Bubble and the GI Joe Motorcycle Two-Pack. Not sure if I reviewed that...Then this Giant-ass Walmart Supercenter opened near me. I mean it's big, who ever saw Walmart with a grocery store in it (please, I know many have, but this is my first time, I know it's sad...)? Well they were packing there. I got the IG and IG Destro comic pack. Plus it seems they are really stocked up and they had the new wave of the rereleases. So I picked up Snake Eyes when I saw him, last one too. I feel bad I didn't get him when he was first released...

Oh well...Well back on track, the Vehicle Two Pack is nice. It's Cpl. Breaker I believe with a motorcycle, yep, it's boring the way I put it. He comes with a side gatling gun, that attaches to the right side of the vehicle. On both sides he has two removable and opening storage cases. One is already stocked with a pistol. He has some sturdy issues. His tail piped are a bit loose if it's just picked at. No prob just a nit pick. The figure itself is Snake Eyes' Torso, waist, and lower legs, Duke's arms, and thighs, and the Cpl. Breaker head which is HUGE! I bet one headbutt by him and you'd be knocked out. He comes with Snake Eyes Webgear with the pistol included and the giant helmet for his noggin'. He didn't come with the featured radio head set or backpack, but I guess that's ok with all the features.

The Trouble Bubble, or Cobra Flight Pod if you must, is nice. It has a opening dome and flip down controls. It has missiles on the side that are removable. Nothing much about it, just a good vehicle. It comes with a Tele- Viper. It's made from the Cobra Viper stripped to it's base. The new stuff is the head and I believe the vest is new. Unlike Viper's hands, it's suitable for controlling the Bubble. My only complaint is he didn't come with the mine. It'd be a nice accessory since he doesn't come with one (I don't count the Bubble as an accessory).

Stickers- pain in the ass. You know how they put half the stickers on? Well watch out for that. Some are uneven, some are sloppy. It's hard to compare when stores put one case out per shelf, I think. Atleast that's the way I see it. The only thing to watch out for is the uneven Cobra Symbol on the Trouble Bubble. It may not be centered correctly. The sticker should atleast have cuts to fit the roundness of the bubble. The missile stickers either stick or not. One missile sticker didn't stick, just coat the sticker back with superglue and hold it tight until it sticks, it won't be fast either. I held it for atleast 10 minutes.

Nice set none the less. This set is mostly communication soldiers, and the vehicles are nice. I can't really think about anything else to say. The vehicles are made for other figures that have a thin "groin" section. Early version had "panties" while later releases have "thongs", you get the idea... Well it's a great set none the less. Go get it, but make sure of the flaws I told you about. DTM outz...
