Just a little review here (no pun intended)...
Got a Mega Bloks Plasma Dragons Booster Pack at TRU on clearance for around $2. What the hell are they, you ask? Little tiny figures that you cut out from the little tree frame and you assemble the little figures, see no pun intended...
The booster pack comes with eight, count them, one, two, three, etc., EIGHT figures. Each comes with a base that you can detach from the tree frame. I'm guessing they are around 1 inches tall, no too tall, because they are small. All the figures have the same basic articulation on ball joints in the waist, shoulders, and wrist. Nothing special, I guess they can get into decent poses. Depending on the character, or figure, they have different washes or paint jobs on them. Mine are some sort of knights with a silver wash, the ogres are grey with a hit of acid green of them.
The figures are pretty detailed. Armor panels are clear visible on the knights. One of the coolest ones that came in the set has tiny sculpted chain mail. Armor designs are nice on the torso and shoulders for some. The orges have a gruesome face, with teeth poking out. The armor for the ogres have rivets on their armor. The clothing for them is nicely sculpted.
Accessories are some bases, weapons, and shields. What kind of knight and ogre wouldn't have those? Again according to the set you pick up it will differ. My set had translucent blue and silver painted shields for the knights. The shields were either diamond shaped, or circular. For the weapons one was a translucent blue sword with a silver hilt, the others were silver blade and gold hilt. It also came with a mace of the same color scheme, and some wizard staff.
The ogres came with translucent greyish shields with gold trims, the shields are either circular, or diamond shaped, like the knights. The weapons included are a spear, a hammer, and a axe, all have a brown and tan color scheme.
The set is pretty cool, they also stated that this is some sort of game with them, pshh...They are cool as they are as figures. I think you need a play set though if you really want to duke it out between the two sides. One ogre just looks amazing to me, he has a menacing grin and his teeth are jutting out. The sculpt is killer, and his arms are gigantic compared to the ones I have now. The one knight I like has a helmet like Ares of DC Comics. The armor on the arms are fantastic.
At this price, $2, I think it's a worthy set to pick up. Who doesn't like small little men. Just think of it as army men taking a step forward with articulation, but a step back in time...
